Shared datacenter proxies for large IP pools at the lowest cost per IP

Shared datacenter proxies are datacenter IPs that you use together with other ProxyMay customers. At $0.0167 per IP per month they are the lowest cost per address on ProxyMay, built for spreading light, high-volume requests across hundreds or thousands of IPs.

01

What is a shared datacenter proxy?

A shared datacenter proxy is an IP address on a datacenter server line that several customers use at the same time. Because the cost of each address is split between users, the price per IP falls far below a private address: $0.0167 per IP per month, against $0.64 for a dedicated datacenter proxy that only you use.

Sharing has one practical effect. Other users send their own traffic through the same addresses, so a target site may have seen an IP before your first request. On sites that block lightly this rarely changes the result, and the low price lets you hold a pool many times larger for the same budget.

Shared IPs are sold in bulk, not one by one. A single order covers 10 to 5,000 IPs in steps of 10, all in the country you choose, for 1, 3, 6, 12 months. The order is paid once from your balance, and there is no separate charge for the data you move.

02

Shared versus dedicated datacenter proxies

Both products use IPs on datacenter server lines, so speed and the way you connect are similar. The difference is who else uses the address and how many addresses you buy.

Pick shared when the number of addresses matters more than the record of each one, for example when a crawler rotates through a long list and every IP sends only a few requests. Pick dedicated when the same IP must stay clean for weeks, such as an allowlist on your own server or a monitor that should always come from one address.

Both are ordered from the same Buy tab and paid from the same balance. Many teams start with a shared pool and add a few dedicated IPs only for the parts of the job that need them.

03

Jobs that suit shared datacenter proxies

  • Sitemap and link crawls: walk large sitemaps and internal links to find broken pages, redirect chains and missing tags, spreading the requests across the whole pool.
  • Bulk lookups on open data: collect public records, open product feeds and other data the publisher allows to be read by machines.
  • Uptime and response time checks: request your own pages from many addresses in one country on a schedule and log the status codes and timing.
  • Scraper dry runs: test parsing, retries and speed settings on a cheap pool before you move the finished job to a pricier product.
  • Rotation lists: give tools that expect a long list of host and port lines enough addresses to spread load evenly.

The common thread is light blocking and many small requests. When a target starts asking for logins or verification pages, shared IPs are no longer the efficient choice, and part of the work should move to rotating residential proxies or static ISP proxies.

Shared datacenter proxy pricing with worked examples

The total is the unit price times the number of IPs times the number of months, rounded up to the cent. The dashboard shows the same calculation in the order summary before you buy, together with your balance after the purchase.

OrderCalculationTotal
100 shared IPs, 1 month100 x $0.0167$1.67
1,000 shared IPs, 3 months1,000 x $0.0167 x 3$50.10
5,000 shared IPs, 12 months5,000 x $0.0167 x 12$1,002.00
100 dedicated IPs, 1 month100 x $0.64$64.00

The last row shows why the shared plan exists. For the price of 100 dedicated IPs for one month you could hold about 3,830 shared IPs for the same month. If your job needs many addresses and each one sends little traffic, that gap decides the budget.

Data transfer is not part of the price. Large pages, long crawls and repeated checks cost the same as long as the number of IPs and months stays the same. The top-up bonus also applies: a $100 top-up adds a 20% bonus, and the full $120 balance can pay for shared IPs, other products or both.

How to order shared datacenter proxies

  1. 1Sign up and save your access token. It is your login and your proxy password.
  2. 2Top up your balance. The minimum top-up is $20.
  3. 3Open the Buy tab in the dashboard and choose Shared datacenter proxies.
  4. 4Choose a country, set the number of IPs (the buttons add or remove 10 at a time) and pick a period.
  5. 5Check the summary: unit price, quantity and period, total and balance after purchase.
  6. 6Press Buy now. The total comes out of your balance, and the order appears in Your orders with its order code and the status Setting up.

If your balance does not cover the total, the Buy now button stays off and the amount you still need is shown below it with a top-up link. Nothing is charged until the balance is enough.

When setup is complete, the status changes to Active. If an order cannot be completed, it is canceled and the full amount goes back to your balance, where it shows as a refund line in your history and can be spent on any product.

06

Choosing a country for a shared datacenter pool

Shared datacenter proxies come from the same 18 countries as dedicated datacenter proxies, centered on places with many server facilities in North America, Europe and Asia.

Each order covers one country. If you need pools in two countries, for example to compare what visitors in each see, place two orders. Each order keeps its own period, so a short test pool and a long main pool can run side by side.

The country list and the products available in each country are on Coverage. A page such as Germany IP shows at a glance whether datacenter IPs are offered there.

07

Getting the most from shared datacenter IPs

A large pool works best when the load is spread evenly. These habits keep the share of good responses high:

  • Rotate through the whole list instead of sending most requests through the first few IPs.
  • Set a cap on parallel requests per domain and raise it only while errors stay low.
  • On a 403 or 429 response, wait, then retry from a different IP rather than repeating the same one.
  • Respect robots.txt, the site's terms and what is meant to be public.
  • Load tests or traffic that could take a site down are not allowed.

Keep a simple log of response codes per day. If the share of blocks rises on a target, move only that target to a dedicated datacenter proxy or to rotating residential traffic and keep the rest of the job on the shared pool.

08

Start with a small shared datacenter pool

Order the minimum pool of 10 IPs for one month, run your job for a day and look at the share of good responses. If the numbers hold, raise the pool size in the next order. Prices for every product are on Plans, tool settings are in Quick start, and you can sign up to get your token.
