Mobile Proxies that show you what phone users actually see

Mobile proxies send your requests through IPs on carrier mobile networks. You can check app screens, mobile web pages and mobile ads that only appear to people on phones, from the location of users in that country.

01

What kind of IP do mobile proxies use?

When a phone uses mobile data, it gets an address on the carrier's mobile network. Mobile proxies send your requests out from exactly that kind of IP. The target site or app server sees the request as coming from the same network as users on mobile data.

Carrier mobile networks are built so that many users take turns sharing the same IPs. Services are used to many people arriving from one mobile address, and that produces different results from home or datacenter IPs.

Put type-mobile in the username to exit from a mobile IP. Set the country with a two-letter code after country-, and if you need the same IP for a while, use session-name to keep it for up to 120 minutes. The address is the same gate.proxymay.com:7000 gateway as every other product.

02

Why check app and mobile web views separately?

The same service often shows different screens to people on phones. Mobile-only discounts, app install prompts, carrier billing options and ad slots that run only on mobile are common examples. These can depend on the network you connect from, not just the device.

Shrinking a desktop browser to phone size in the office does not show the whole difference. You can match the screen size and User-Agent to a phone, but if the outgoing IP is the office line, the service may still treat you as a fixed-line visitor. Mobile proxies fill in that last condition with a real carrier IP.

When you check, open the same screen once on a fixed-line IP and once on a mobile IP and compare them side by side. Knowing whether the price, banner or wording changes makes it clear what to fix for mobile users.

03

Mobile proxies versus the other three products

Mobile proxies are for jobs where the type of network changes the result. If a page looks the same on any network, there is no need for a mobile IP.

If you need results split by city or collected in bulk, use rotating residential proxies, which target down to the city; mobile proxies target by country only. If you need one IP for an account all month, use static ISP proxies, and for fast, high-volume fetching of lightly blocked pages, datacenter proxies cost less.

A common split: broad web monitoring runs on rotating residential, and the points that look different to phone users get checked separately on mobile proxies. With one balance, moving between the two needs no separate top-up.

Checks you can run on mobile proxies, with settings

  • Mobile ad verification: confirm your ad shows correctly to phone users in a given country and does not lead to the wrong page.
  • App screen checks: point an emulator or test device at a mobile IP and check the first screen and prices the app shows per country.
  • Mobile web testing: see what your site looks like, and how fast it loads, for users on a carrier network.
  • App store region checks: review app listing pages and rankings that differ by country.

Here is a Playwright example that matches both a phone screen and a mobile IP. Matching the device and the network together gets you closest to a real user's view.

const { chromium, devices } = require('playwright');

const browser = await chromium.launch({
  proxy: {
    server: 'http://gate.proxymay.com:7000',
    username: 'user-type-mobile-country-kr-session-app1',
    password: 'YOUR_TOKEN'
  }
});
const context = await browser.newContext({ ...devices['iPhone 13'] });
const page = await context.newPage();
await page.goto('https://ipinfo.io/json');

Per-GB billing for mobile proxies, worked example

Mobile proxies are billed by data transferred, from $4.00/GB. The number of IPs or sessions does not affect the price.

Mobile pages can be heavier than you expect because of ads and images, so measure first. For example, if one ad check uses 5 MB, 200 checks a day is 1 GB, and 30 days is 30 GB. The cost then works out to 30 × $4.00.

Blocking video and large images you do not need cuts data for the same number of checks. Unless the job is to verify the ad images themselves, try fetching only documents and scripts.

06

Setting up mobile proxies

  1. 1Sign up and store your access token. A lost token cannot be recovered.
  2. 2Top up your balance. It is the same balance as the other products.
  3. 3Build the username as user-type-mobile-country- followed by the country code.
  4. 4Enter host gate.proxymay.com, port 7000, the username and your token in your test device, emulator or automation tool.
  5. 5Check the ipinfo.io result to confirm the country and carrier.

Settings for each tool are in Quick start.

07

How do I choose a country for mobile IPs?

Mobile proxies are targeted by country across 56 countries. Pick the country of the market your ad or app is aimed at.

Country codes are two lowercase letters: South Korea is country-kr, Brazil is country-br. Coverage shows which countries offer mobile IPs, and country pages like South Korea IP list the available products right away.

08

Rules to follow on mobile IPs

A mobile IP is not immune to blocks. Send many requests to one service in a short time and you hit limits regardless of network.

  • If you get blocked, change the session name for a new IP or widen the gaps between requests.
  • Keep automation close to the pace of a person using a phone.
  • Follow the terms of apps and sites, and check only your own services or what you are permitted to.

Use mobile proxies for legitimate work such as screen checks, ad verification and localization review. Unauthorized access to other people's accounts, spam, fraud and attacks are forbidden.
